Domains and Hosting

Cloudways

I love cloudways. It’s a joy to use. I love the risk free way you can clone a website, install all the plugins, upgrade wordpress and sync it back to the live site once you’ve tested it in a safe enviroment. So easy even without technical skills.

They also offer a free CDN, unlimited applications on one server, automated backups and managed hosting for wordpress. Sounds expensive right? Wrong. Cloudways offers their premium hosting service from just $10 per month!

Siteground

Siteground is another great cloud based hosting platform offer managed wordpress that I use with some of my sites. Siteground has excellent chat support that is very responsive.

There service also includes as standard SSL certificates, daily backups and staging environments to safely update plugins. All starting at the very low price of £2.95 per month for 1 website.

Namecheap

Offering domains at great prices, a great user interface with excellent support and unlike most registrars offering domain privacy for free. For me, namecheap is the easy choice.

Amazon Affiliate Plugins

AAWP

In my opinion, the best Amazon Associates plugin there is. It’s fully featured and looks great too when so many affiliate plugins look terrible. This is important to me because affiliate sites should look great (many don’t). A great looking website means visitors are much more likely to trust your reviews.

It features a number of differing linking options including text links, bestsellers lists, product boxes, new release lists and more.

SEO Tools

ahrefs

ahrefs is a full suite SEO tool who’s features include competative analysis, keywords research, backlink research, content research, ranking tracking, site auditing and web monitoring. They are the second largest indexer of the web after Google and have a huge backlink index!

ahrefs should be in everyones toolbox and you can trial the product for just $7.

semrush

Another great full suite SEO tool offering keyword research, competitor analysis, great visualisations, reporting, position tracking, site audit and more.

We use both ahrefs and semrush regularly but if you are on a tight budget you can choose whichever tool you like best. We would recommended both happily.

Page Builders and Themes

Thrive Architect

Thrive Architect is a fantastic visual page builder for WordPress. With no technical skills you can mock up web pages that look great fast. It has a drag and drop interface so you can easily create the layouts you want with buttons and other more advanced user interface elements.

Thrive themes as a company are heavily focused on conversions throughout their product range.

Astra

Astra is my favourite premium theme for wordpress and it works great with Thrive Architect. It’s lightweight, highly customisable and has many great features, controls, layout integrations and widgets out of the box.

If you are planning on running an eCommerce site, it also works great with WooCommerce too!

Training

Authority Hacker

In my opinion, Authority Hacker are the benchmark when it comes to online training for building authority sites. They have a great track record in building their own sites and the training they offer is very slick, well thought out and complete.

Taking an Authority Hacker course will give you all the knowledge and tools you need to be successful building your own sites.

Outreach and Prospecting

Hunter

Hunter is a great email finding and verification tool which helps you find the contact details on your prospct list faster than ever before. Hunter is a big reason why we are able to automate our link building process and find the contact details for thousands of prosepcts in only a few minutes.

Mailshake

Mailshake is an awesome outreach automation too that allows you set and forget the inital step in the outreach process. It features automated follow ups, templates and the ability to easily track those that have replied so that you can track your leads and respond appropriately. The interface is great. We love mailshake!

Lead Generation

Optin Monster

It feels like optin monster has been around forever. But it’s still the best tool for creating optin forms on your website with a huge number of options, trigger points and a simple drag and drop interface which allows you to create great designs really quickly.
